The practical value of an event is the trait it applies, because that trait multiplies income permanently. That is why experienced players buy and rebuy brainrots through the carpet while an event is live instead of standing still — a brainrot that never crosses the carpet never gets the trait.

Is there an event today?
There is a reliable one twice a week: the Saturday update Admin Abuse and Taco Tuesday. Everything else is either seasonal (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Ramadan and national-day events) or spawned on the spot by an admin, which is why no site — this one included — can give you a live "event now" answer. The official Discord announcement is the only real-time source.
Country events are the workhorse
49 separate country traits exist, every one of them worth 4.5x. They rotate through national days and are applied on the carpet, so a country event is usually the best chance a regular player gets to multiply a whole base in one sitting. Check the trait table for which flags are already in the game.
