Steal a Brainrot Beginner Guide: How To Play
The loop in one paragraph
Brainrots walk down the red carpet. You buy one, it walks to your base, and from then on it prints cash every second. Other players can walk into your base and carry your brainrots away, and you can do the same to them. Everything else in the game — rebirths, traits, mutations, rituals, lucky blocks — exists to raise either how much a brainrot earns or how hard it is to take from you.
Your first ten minutes
- Buy anything. Do not save. A $25 Noobini Pizzanini earns its price back in 25 seconds, the fastest payback in the game. Empty base slots earn nothing.
- Fill every slot. Income is per-brainrot, so an occupied slot always beats a hoarded wallet.
- Keep the Bat equipped. Hitting a player who is carrying your brainrot returns it to its slot immediately. This is the single most useful mechanic new players do not know.
- Upgrade to a Slap ($500) and a Speed Coil ($750) from the gear shop. Reach and movement decide who gets to a good spawn first. Full costs are on the gear page.
- Watch the announcements. When a Brainrot God, Secret, OG or lucky block spawns, the server is told. That is your cue to run — and a warning that everyone else is running too.
Do not buy the expensive one yet
The economy is flatter than it looks. Across every rarity, a brainrot pays back its own price in a couple of minutes — the rarity comparison shows the median payback barely moves between Common and Secret. What rarity actually buys is density: more income in the same base slot. Early on you have few slots, so cheap brainrots you can replace after every rebirth are worth more than an expensive one you cannot defend.
Rebirth early, rebirth often
Rebirth 1 costs 500K cash plus Trippi Troppi and Gangster Footera, and gives a permanent multiplier plus the friend controller and starting gear. Rebirth 2 adds a second floor to your base. Every rebirth adds +10 seconds of base lock time. Rebirthing takes your brainrots and most of your cash, which is exactly why you should not be attached to them. The full ladder is on the rebirth requirements page.
Where the multipliers come from
- Mutations — one per brainrot, from Gold at 1.25x up to Crystal at 13x.
- Traits — stackable, applied during events, added to the mutation value rather than multiplied by it.
- Rebirths — permanent, applied to everything you own.
- Index completion — +0.5x per completed set.

Mistakes that cost new players the most
- Saving up. Cash sitting in your wallet earns nothing and is mostly lost on rebirth.
- Buying server luck before opening a lucky block. The contents are decided when the block spawns; luck does nothing. See lucky block odds.
- Chasing “free secret” videos. There is no gifting system and no code system — see the codes page for what codes actually exist in this game.
- Leaving the best brainrot on floor one. Height costs thieves time, and time is what your base lock takes away from them.
